A Season of Gratitude, Celebration, and Staying Safe Online

It’s hard to believe that another year is quickly coming to a close. As the days grow shorter and the holidays begin to fill our calendars, October gives us an excellent opportunity to focus on something that affects all of us: Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Technology has become a part of nearly everything we do. Whether we’re shopping online, managing our finances, keeping up with family, or planning holiday gatherings, our digital lives are more connected than ever. While technology offers tremendous convenience, it also reminds us that protecting our personal information remains important year-round.

The good news is that staying safe online doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, many of the most effective security practices are simple habits that anyone can follow.

A Few Easy Ways to Protect Yourself

  • Use strong, unique passwords for important accounts.
  • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication whenever it is available.
  • Keep your phone, computer, and apps updated.
  • Be cautious of unexpected emails, texts, or phone calls asking for personal information.
  • Review your account activity regularly and report anything suspicious promptly.

As we move into the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping season, it’s also a good time to remember that scammers often take advantage of increased online activity.

A simple rule of thumb is to pause before clicking. If something seems unusual or creates a sense of urgency, take a moment to verify the source before responding.

Technology Keeps Changing

Throughout this year, we have explored several technology topics, including cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and digital wallets. While the tools and services available to consumers continue to evolve, one thing remains constant: informed customers are better protected customers.

A Time to Reflect and Give Thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches, many of us will gather around the table with family and friends to reflect on the blessings of the past year. For us, that includes you. We are truly grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

Looking Forward to 2027

As 2026 comes to an end, we want to sincerely thank you for your continued loyalty and support. From our banking family to yours, we wish you a blessed Thanksgiving, a very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Thank you for allowing us to be your trusted financial partner. We look forward to serving you in 2027 and beyond.
